Leaving for Kenya this time around, I didn't know what to expect as far as how God would open doors for me to be involved in some ministry work. I assumed that I would connect with Pastor John and would go with Him and some other individuals from the congregation visiting some hospitals a few times a week, speak to people, get a feel for the needs, etc.
God had another plan. As far as I can tell, the plan involves making me sit at home and listen to what He has to say. I'm sure you are wondering how was God able to make me sit at home. First it started out with a bad case of pink eye. It was so bad I didn't actually realize it was pink eye because my eye was so swollen. So I got some eye drops for that and it started to clear up, but just as I was ready to make some moves, I got pink eye in the other eye and a bad cold sore on my lips. Ugg! More medicines and time to clear up. That episode was over and I had decided to visit an infant children's home in the area where I live, to see about volunteering there. I woke up that morning with another pink eye episode. I decided that the medicine was not working, so I had to see the doctor for something stronger. When I was on my way to the doctor I stepped in a funny way and twisted my ankle. So once again I'm sitting at home not going anywhere but listening to what the Lord has to say about the direction He wants.
